Health & Social Care Level 1 Diploma at Furness College

Course description

This qualification will develop the knowledge and awareness of the types of provision in the Health & Social Care sector.

Course content

Units studied may include: communication with adults and children in Health and Social Care, learning experiences for children and young people, promoting healthy eating in care and job opportunities. You will also have the opportunity to complete short courses in subjects such as Mental Health, Sexual Health and Substance Misuse Awareness as an integrated part of your programme.

Every full-time course will include a real experience of work. 

Maths and English form part of this course and will be assessed at the relevant levels.

Taught sessions and workshops.

Entry requirements

Two GCSEs at grades D - G or other equivalent qualifications. You will be required to attend an interview.

Assessment

Continuous assessment and multi-choice exam.

Future opportunities

Students can progress on to the Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care. Progression is based on aptitude and a successful interview.
