Travel & Tourism BTEC Level 3 Diploma at Christ The King Catholic High School and Sixth Form Centre
Travel & Tourism is studied at Level 3 and the course leads to vocational qualifications. Although the units concentrate on the industry of Travel & Tourism, there are a large number of vocational skills developed which could be used in a broad range of contexts.
This qualification equates to two A Levels. The syllabus focuses on a range of study modules related to the broad area of Travel & Tourism. It is a specialist qualificatino that focuses on aspects of employment within this vocational sector. It is particularly relevant to pupils who have studied Travel & Tourism at level 2; however, this is not an entry requirement.
Route 1 - not available
Route 2 - a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, or BTEC/OCR at Merit of above
Route 3 - a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, or BTEC/OCR at Merit of above
You will complete eight units of work on a variety of topics, six are mandatory and two are optional. Assessment is both assignment based and externally assessed. The nature of the course necessitates a wide range of study visits to a variety of Travel & Tourism destinations.
The course develops a wide variety of skills e.g. presentation, customer service skills and research skills which can be used in a range of work settings.
A Level 3 qualification in Travel & Tourism is a valued qualification within the Travel & Tourism industry and is also recognised by Higher Education institutions.
