Product Design: Textiles A Level at The Piggott School

Course description

The subject has been designed for students who have taken GCSE Textiles, but will accommodate students coming new to the subject. Students will study materials, components and application in addition to design and making. Knowledge of textile science and of a wide range of materials and components used in the making of textiles products will be developed. The study of fibres, fabrics and construction will form the back bone of the course. Practical work is also crucial to the understanding and development of knowledge and will form the main part of the Coursework. The course will require several practical sessions a week.

Entry requirements

Minimum GCSE entry requirements: 5 A* - C grades
