Course description

Physical Education encourages you to improve your ability to plan, perform and evaluate physical activities. The course develops your knowledge skills and understanding in a range of sports and specific activities from the leisure industry.

Course content

Practical Activities:

Game Activities;

Gymnastic Activities;

Dance;

Athletic Activities; (Swimming);

Invasion Games;

Net/Wall Games;

Striking/fielding/target games;

Health promoting training programmes.

Including:

Taking part in sport;

Assisting at a sport or leisure event;

Improving own fitness;

Health and Safety;

Managing your own health at work.

Exercise and fitness;

How the body works;

Fitness programme leading;

Sport and Active Leisure Activities;

Working in Sport and Active Leisure;

Sport and Active Leisure Group Project;

Job Opportunities;

Physical activities for children;

Dance Skills.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification and though it is not a requirement to have studied Physical Education before taking this qualification, you will need to have a keen interest in the field and aspirations for working in the Sport or Leisure profession.
