Level 3 Technical Diploma in Hairdressing at West Kent College

Course description

This course has been directly linked to the industry to ensure you will be able to secure employment or take your skills abroad. It allows you to enter the hairdressing profession with greater creative skills, enhancing your employment prospects.

Based in our salon and on work experience, you will cover all aspects of creative hair design, including advanced techniques in:

• Creative cutting and styling
• Colouring creatively
• Perming creatively
• Long hair work
• Photoshoot/competition work
• Work experience

You also have the opportunity to develop additional skills such as bridal and creative work. You will need to buy specialist equipment and clothing.

Entry requirements

You will need five GCSEs at Grades A*-C/9-4, including English and maths. Alternatively, a Level 2 Hair qualification at Merit or Distinction, with a Grade C/4 GCSE in English and maths.

Your enrolment is subject to a successful interview, references and a skills assessment.
