Sport and Public Services Diploma Level 1 at New College Stamford
This course will allow you to develop you knowledge and skills in sport and public services. You will take part in sports activities and learn how the body works. You will also develop key skills in English, maths and ICT to develop your independence and employability.This course is approximately 60% theory and 40% practical.
You will learn through group work, peer assessment, individual tasks, methods of ILT and powerpoint presentations. You will take part in activities including:St Georges parkEnglish Institute of sportOlympic StadiumBirmingham futsal arenaUniversity visitsSkiing tripLilleshall national centre for excellence
4 GCSEs at grades D or above.
There will be a variety of assessment methods used (written assessments, observations, presentations and discussions being some) youwill gaina thorough understanding of the evidence they are expected to produce. All course work orientated.
On successful completion of this course you could progress on to the Public Services or SportDiploma Level 2, or enter employment.
This is a uniformed service course which is aimed to prepare for entry into the public services. It consists of both practical and theory lessons and is highly disciplined to implement how the services will be upon entry.
