Psychology A-Level at The Ridgeway School and Sixth Form College

Course description

What will I be studying?

AS Level Psychology is the study of the mind and behaviour, and it appeals to the sort of enquiring mind that would like to examine possible answers to the following sorts of questions: "Why do people obey orders, even if in some cases it means committing murder?" "Why do we find some people more attractive than others?‟

Where can it take me?

It combines well with all other subjects, especially Sociology, Biology, PE & Sports Studies and Health & Social Care. The A Level is useful for specific careers in psychology e.g. sports psychology, educational psychology, but it is also useful and relevant for a range of others including personnel management, social work, marketing, advertising and teaching.
