Furniture Restoration - Level 3 Diploma at Chichester College

Course description

The course is designed for those who have completed level 2 in furniture making or have good hand and machining skills. It’s centred the restoration of a range of antiques and 2Oc furniture which can be provided by the college or with approval you can supply. While restoring these items you will cover furniture assessment, repair and replacement of parts and colouring. You will also cover furniture design and look at the British history of furniture design and wood finishing.


Course content

The course units will be Furniture assessment, Replacement and
finishing Plus H&S. If you are aged 16-18 you will follow
a study programme consisting of your main qualification, English and
maths, enterprise and enrichment.

Entry requirements

Entry is by interview and you should have achieved a level 2 in furniture making and or have good hand and machining skills.


Assessment will be through grading on your practical projects, through short answer question papers and online tests.
