Financial Studies (ifs) Level 3 Diploma at Franklin College
As a Financial Studies student, you will learn about managing your money, how it will impact on your life and the choices that you have to make. Financial services products (such as credit cards, loans and mortgages) will be explained along with how to meet your own individual financial needs and in turn become savvy savers and responsible borrowers. The Diploma in Financial Studies builds on the knowledge gained in the first year. You will learn how to finance your future and how to make the most of financial services products in order to meet future needs and aspirations and how to ensure sustainability which is key since the credit crisis. You will also learn how to apply financial service products to other peoples' situations and will gain an understanding of how changes in the financial services environment can affect your own life choices.
Five GCSE grades A*-C or equivalent to include English Language and Maths.
Many students go on to study finance related courses at university or have gained jobs in local banks and building societies. Some students choose this subject so they can gain an understanding of personal finance and how to manage their money more effectively.
