Photography at The Castle School

Course description

This course explores a range of photographic media, techniques and processes whilst using both traditional and new technologies. It develops high level skills, interest in and an enjoyment of photography. Students will learn how to manipulate images and will develop a strong portfolio plus knowledge of professional practice.

Photography is a practical but intellectually stimulating subject aimed at developing creative confidence and expression through visual imagery and techniques. The AS is 100% practical coursework and the A2 course includes a short, written personal investigation and a practical examination.

Entry requirements

Minimum grade C in GCSE Art or Art & Design, preferably GCSE Photography and/or darkroom experience. Owning your own 35mm SLR or digital camera would be an advantage.
