Music at Neston High School

Course description

Music is an integral part of the education offered at Neston High School. The Department aims to develop the musical potential of every pupil and create opportunities for those with high ambition and for those who wish to take part simply for fun. The emphasis is firmly placed on diversity and versatility as seen in the varied and challenging concerts held throughout the academic year including the Christmas Concert and visits to perform at the Cheshire show.

In addition to curricular music lessons, the School offers individual tuition on a number of instruments: piano, organ, flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, saxophone, violin, viola, cello, trumpet, cornet, trombone, horn, euphonium, tuba, classical/electric/bass guitar, drums and percussion which are all available through our partnership with Music for Life. For more information about instrument lessons please contact Music for Life on 01978 761 162. We have a versatile, experienced and friendly team of instrument teachers who provide top quality lessons at an affordable subsidised price. Individual lessons cost £75 per term and a join lesson cost only £55 per term.

Every student is encouraged to join an ensemble as playing and performing with others is an essential part of any musician's development. There are a wide number of different Exl clubs available at Neston High school including The School Band, Samba Band, Every Voice Choir, guitar club, theory club, Music Tech club and various smaller instrumental ensembles.
