Product Design - Textiles A Level at Ormiston Forge Academy

Course description

AS Outline - Candidates study and work with a variety of fabrics and components used in design and making textile products. They work in both two and three dimensional forms. Candidates gain an understanding of industrial and commercial practices within the area of design and manufacture. There is an exam at the end of each year based on the theory that students will have picked up during their studies.

A-Level Outline - The specification offers candidates the opportunity to further develop the knowledge and practical skills from AS. Candidates continue to design and manufacture textile products alongside an understanding of the processes and procedures of commercial textile manufacture.

Entry requirements

Grade C (min) at GCSE in Maths, English and a Design & Technology Subject (preferably Textiles).
