Health and Social Care Diploma Level 1 at Sunderland College

Course description

This course is for people that would like to work in the care industry and are looking for an introduction to the key areas involved.

Course content

You will explore the roles of workers in the care industry. You will also look at the skills and activities used by care workers when caring for the needs of service users. This will include those required when working with young children.

Entry requirements

You’ll need at least three GCSE’s at Grade E or above. As well as Literacy and Numeracy qualifications at entry level plus. You’ll also need two suitable references.

Assessment

The course is mainly taught through classroom learning with some practical.

You will be assessed through coursework.

 

Further information

After successfully completing the course you could progress on to a Level 2 course in Health and Care or any other level 2 course, subject to a suitable reference from your Level 1 lecturers.

    • Washington Campus an award winning campus that is home to Washington Sixth Form and our higher education provision. Located between Gateshead and Washington it was built on the site of the former Usworth School. It was developed to cater for up to 850 people from in or around the Washington area.
