What will I be studying? • Business and communication systems in the working environment • This course brings together the subjects of Business and ICT How will I be assessed? • One 45 minute multiple choice exam on small businesses contributing 35% of final mark • Controlled assessment research task on a business of your choice worth 30 %.of final mark • One 90 Minute multiple choice exam on business communication systems worth 35% of final mark. What can I achieve, where will it get me? Access to AS or A level in Business Studies, Economics or Communication. Advancement to a University undergraduate Degree or HND in Business, Economics or Management course. Post Graduate Masters Degree in Business, Economics or Management What else do I need to know? The course involves a lot of reading and thinking skills, and the ability to use ICT as a functional skill confidently. You will need a very good level of ICT, English & Maths skills Level 5 or above. No ICT is taught on the course you are expected to have these skills. You will gain experience of using live data, using statistics and develop the ability to analyse the global and European Economies. All of your coursework will be presented using a combination of ICT software and hardware. All work submitted will be to a near professional quality. You will enjoy this course if you want to study a subject that: • is relevant to current global affairs, and monitory systems. •or if you want to go on to A levels and University.

Future opportunities

You could take this course to prepare for an NVQ Level 1 or 2 in a related subject and depending on your other qualifications, you could progress onto courses leading to the Advanced GCE in Business Studies or Applied Business Studies. With further training, you could go into a job related to business by working for a wide range of companies in areas of marketing, finance, human resources or public relations. You could also go straight into employment as the course is delivered through a work-based training programme, will help you develop the artistic skills, knowledge and understanding that lots of employers are looking for.
