This is a BTEC course

This is a practical course that will give you the opportunity to develop your understanding of the techniques and skills required to develop as a musical performer within the music industry.

As well as practical music making, you will also carry out research, written and presentation based activities.

Course content

Year 1

Mandatory Unit - Music Performance Techniques

Specialist Unit - Working and Developing as a Musical Ensemble

Optional Units

You will study a further 4 optional units, one in Year 12 and three in Year 13

Entry requirements

Students wishing to enrol on this course must be competent on at least one instrument
and have gained at least a pass in BTEC First Diploma in Music.
Performance auditions may be requested

Future opportunities

Progression from the Level 3 course could be to study Higher National Certificates/Diplomas leading to a Music degree or a career within the vast array of roles within the Music Industry.
