EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) at Christ The King College

Course description

The EPQ is a personal project taken in addition to A2 courses. It is a stand alone qualification based on independent research.

Course content

The project could consist of either a 5000 word essay on a subject of your choice (subject to supervisor approval) OR the creation of an artefact (film, peice of art or design technology etc) accompanied by a minimum of a 1000 word essay.



You would also need to give a presentation in front of a small group of fellow students and members of staff.

In addition you will work with your supervisor to complete a Student Production log which details and reflects upon the whole process and progress of the project from start to finish.

The EPQ, if completed successfull,y is worth additional UCAS points, it is graded A* - E.

Future opportunities

The completion of the EPQ will reflect well in a Personal Statement and offers something to be discussed if called for interview during the UCAS application process. It is worth up to 70 UCAS points.
