A BTEC in Public Services is designed to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for success when moving towards a career in the uniformed services. Depending upon the pathway chosen the following Units are an example of what could be studied: Government, Policies and the Public Services Leadership and Teamwork in the Public Services Citizenship, Diversity and the Public Services Physical Preparation, Health and Lifestyle for the Public Services Skills for Land-based Outdoor and Adventurous Activities

Students completing the BTEC Level 3 National Award, Certificate and Diploma in Public Services can go on to do a university degree or Foundation Degree in an appropriate vocational discipline, to BTEC HNCs or HNDs, to employment or - if working in the sector - to an appropriate NVQ.
It is vocational in nature, designed to provide a specialist work-related qualification, suitable for a career in public services sector. Students follow and complete a series of assignments, which include case studies and projects, and performance observation for practical assessment. There is no formal, written examination at the end of the course.
