English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) : Entry Level 1 - 3 at Gateway College

Course description

On the course you will develop the skills you need in your everyday life: travelling independently, shopping, using the internet safely, staying healthy, staying safe, managing money, finding out what’s going in Leicester, understanding the British way of life etc.

Course content

You will be able to go on trips and visits in and around Leicester.

You will be able to do enrichment activities, for example cricket, badminton, football, multi-sports, performing arts and reading club.

Entry requirements

We offer the ESOL course at different levels: Entry1, Entry 2 and Entry 3. The teachers will check your reading, writing and speaking/listening skills during enrolment and place you on the correct level.

Assessment

You will work towards Entry Level qualifications in Functional Skills English, Maths and ICT. You may also gain a vocational qualification.

Free to all home students.

Future opportunities

After the ESOL course, you will be able to progress on to other courses in College at Level 1. Your qualification will be recognised by employers and other colleges when you are applying for work or study.
