Course description

 

 

If you have an enquiring mind, enjoy reading, debating, the study of scientific research and theory then this is the subject for you. Psychology will enable you to gain fascinating insights into human and animal behaviour. In order to stretch and challenge psychology students they are encouraged to apply theory to real life examples of human behaviour (think like a psychologist in relation to unfamiliar material).

Entry requirements

In addition, to study this subject you must have achieved Grade C in English Language and English Literature, Maths, Double Science (or a distinction in Applied Science) at GCSE.

 

Assessment

2 Exams in AS Year.

3 Exams in A2 Year.

Future opportunities

 

Examples of careers in psychology are educational, clinical, occupational, sports and forensic psychology. Qualifications in psychology are also welcomed in a diverse range of professions from nursing, teaching and social work to careers in law, the media and business. In fact for any career that involves working with people this subject is useful.
