Music at Island Innovation VI Form Campus

Course description

Are you passionate about music? Would you like to perform music to a high standard? Have you got a musical imagination? Would you like to study a vast array of music from Bach to the Beatles? If you have answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions then Music is the subject for you! Music is open to all students who play an instrument, although some knowledge of theory and the ability to read both treble and bass clef are essential to gain a C grade or above.

Course content

AS units include: Performance, composition and examination.   A2 units include: Recital, composition and technical study, and examination.

Entry requirements

5 A* - C grades at GCSE to include B grade in Music at GCSE.

Future opportunities

After completing your A Level in Music or Music Technology you can look forward to music in university or one of the 6 UK based conservatoires. You do not have to study just performance; you can study music composition, production, history or even music in health and education. If you have the desire and drive you really can see the world through music either performing on the cruise ships, teaching, or touring with a world famous orchestra.
