Site Carpentry Cskills Awards Diploma Level 2 at Croydon College
This course is designed for those who wish to have a career in carpentry. You will develop the skills that you will have learnt on a Level 1 course through a combination of practical and theory sessions.
This course will cover site carpentry techniques and skills which will enable you to construct and fit various on-site structures such as timber partitions, roofs, and stairs as well as hanging and fixing doors, windows, and ironmongery.
Good English and maths skills are essential for success in studying and for future employment prospects and so Croydon College ensures that these skills are developed in all learning opportunities.
It’s also important to have good English and maths qualifications and so all students will study English and maths and work towards an appropriate level and type of qualification including GCSE. This will be part of all 16-18 year old students’ Study Programme alongside their main vocational or academic qualification and will be discussed with students at interview.
This programme is delivered by our fully trained and professional staff who have years of industry and site experience. You will benefit from being trained in our modern workshops which are fully equipped with industry standard machinery.
Trips and Activities:
You will have the opportunity to undertake enrichment activities outside of Croydon College, with regular trips to exhibitions such as Eco-Build at the Excel Centre and on-site visits to construction sites.
Each year there is an intercollege construction and building services competition. Prizes and certificates are awarded and winners have the opportunity to enter the World Skills Competition along with other FE colleges.
A key distinguishing feature of the college is our links with employers and the ways in which we incorporate this into your learning. Employers attend our popular employability events and you can discuss Apprenticeships and progression opportunities in our Employability Hub or in the Apprenticeship Office.
A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade D-G, one being English or maths, or a Level 1 related qualification.
English and maths assessed at Entry Level 3 or above.
