What qualifications will I gain?
The Childcare Apprenticeship is made up of the following elements:
- NVQ in Childcare
- Functional skills in maths
- Functional skills in English
- Functional skills in Information and Communication Technology
- Award in Employment Rights & Responsibilities
This is a full-time, permanent work-based Apprenticeship in childcare. You enjoy on-the-job training towards nationally recognised qualifications at Levels 2 and 3, guided by our professional assessors who provide one-to-one support and advice throughout your programme.
You usually start your training at Level 2, depending on your qualifications and ability. We identify this at your initial assessment.
What skills will I learn?
The course content will vary depending on the needs of the job and can include:
- Contributing to positive relationships
- Supporting play and education
- Supporting communication and behaviour
- Dealing with accidents and emergencies
- Team working
- First Aid
Who should apply?
Anyone can apply for this course who is interested in a childcare career path. As long as you are aged 16 to 64 and not in full-time education we can help. You might already have a job and be looking for work-based training, or you might want to find a job that comes with training through esg.
