Apprenticeship: Wood Occupations at Croydon Skills and Enterprise College

Course description

This offers the Apprenticeship in Wood Occupations. You will gather evidence for the NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry & Joinery, Key Skills and a Technical Certificate. Evidence will be gathered in the workplace and you will have regular meetings with an assessor. You will also take part in on and off the job training.

Entry requirements

GCSE's grade A*-D in English & Maths plus aptitude test & diagnostic skills test OR Foundation Craft Award plus diagnostic skills test OR Increased Flexibility Construction achievement plus aptitude test & diagnostic skills test

Future opportunities

The course offers you a specialist work-based qualification to support a career in wood work or to progress onto further education to study an NVQ level 3 in Wood Operations or related subjects. With further training, you could continue to develop your career in wood operations by working as a Carpenter or Professional Wood Restorer. The course is work based which means you can earn and learn at the same time whilst developing the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers in the craft and design industries are looking for.
