Accountancy Apprenticeship Level 2/3 at Malvern Hills College
South Worcestershire College has an excellent track record of delivering successful apprenticeships. We have an experienced team of assessors, all of whom have relevant industry experience. We also have excellent training facilities for you, as a future apprentice, to take advantage of during your time at college on day or block release; all helping to ensure your success as one of our next apprentices, ultimately providing you with the best employment opportunities for the future.
This programme is for those who are working in an accounting environment and wish to gain a recognised accountancy qualification.
In order to start an Apprenticeship you will need to be in full-time employment and attend day release at College. If you have just begun working within an accounting environment you can commence at Level 2 providing you have a good standard of literacy and numeracy. You will need to have a successful interview where your attitude, attributes and behaviour will be assessed. A liking for working with numbers and ability to demonstrate the potential for developing good communication skills is essential. If you have worked in an accounting environment for some time and have 5 GCSEs grade A* - C and an excellent working knowledge of accounting double entry, it is possible to commence at Level 3.
Each unit is assessed by a computer based exam. There are five exams at Level 2 and six exams at Level 3.
On successful completion of the Apprenticeship you will achieve the Level 2 Certificate in Accounting or the Level 3 Diploma in Accounting, and relevant work experience. On successful completion of the Level 2 programme you can progress on to the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Accountancy or the stand alone Level 3 Diploma in Accounting or into job roles such as Trainee Accountant or Trainee Accounts Technician. On completion of the Level 3 programme you can progress onto the Level 4 Diploma in Accounting or professional qualifications such as CIMA, ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), CIPFA (Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accounting), ACA (Association of Chartered Accountants) or into job roles such as accounts manager.
