Component 1: Physical geography

  • Section B: Coastal systems and landscapes
  • Section C: Hazards

Component 2: Human geography

  • Section A: Global systems and global governance
  • Section B: Changing places
  • Section C: Population and the environment

Component 3: Geographical investigation

Students complete an individual investigation which must include data collected in the field. The individual investigation must be based on a question or issue defined and developed by the student relating to any part of the specification content.

Grade A-C in Geography

Financial information

Folders and other stationery are needed to ensure work is organised. All texts which are studied for the course are provided. Access to the internet at home or at school is essential.

Future opportunities

Geography can be combined with science or arts subjects and many of our past students have gone on to university to study geography or specialise further, eg. urban planning/earth sciences. These students are now working in areas which include teaching, crime mapping and global information.
