Brickwork Level 2 Diploma at Accrington and Rossendale College

Course description

This course consists of 60% practical work and 40% theory. The practical work is undertaken in our modern workshops where you work your way toward units that are assessed by qualified assessors. Classroom sessions underpin the practical work by covering health & safety, trade technology and related subjects.
You will attend college on a 2 or 3 days per week basis.

Course content

Much of the theory content and written work of this course will be available on-line through the College’s “itslearning” virtual learning environment. Candidates must be prepared to use IT as part of their learning.
There will also be opportunities for industrial visits relevant to the course.

Entry requirements

You will need to have completed Level 1 Diploma in Bricklaying and have GCSEs at grades D or above in English and Mathematics. You will need to attend a College interview and complete an initial assessment.


Assessment of the qualification will be by online end of unit theory tests and practical tests for each unit of study.

Financial information

This course is free of charge for 16 – 18 year olds.

This course will cost a maximum of £480 for learners aged 19 years old or above. This fee may be reduced or void depending on the individual’s circumstances.

Successful completion of the Bricklaying Diploma Level 2 leads to our Bricklaying Diploma Level 3 which will improve your job prospects in the Construction industry.
