Media Studies at University Academy Warrington

Course description

Media Studies is a dynamic and modern course, where you will get the opportunity to study the whole range of media texts, from television and film to music albums and computer games. You will enjoy using and developing the analytical skills you developed in your GCSE English course, as well as utilising creative and technical skills during the practical tasks.
WHAT WILL I STUDY?
Media Studies is literally the study of media texts, which means the flexibility of studying a wide range of materials: films, television, magazines, newspapers, advertisements,the list goes on and on!

Entry requirements

To be accepted onto this course, we ask for you to have a C grade in English Language and Maths, though we will consider accepting a D grade if you are re-sitting these GCSEs. You should take an active interest in a wide range of modern media, and use your own wider reading to inform your participation in class discussion, essays and presentations.
