German at Ribston Hall High School
German is an ideal subject to study at Advanced Level. The range of topics studied combine well with a number of other subjects in all fields; German develops valuable communication skills and can be studied further either as a stand-alone subject, or in combination with a wide range of other degree subjects.
The Advanced Level course in German offers a stimulating challenge to language learners interested in further developing their skills. In Year 12, social issues and trends are explored alongside the artistic culture of Germany through a range of topics that are relevant to modern society. In addition, a literary text or German-language film is studied.
Year 13: different aspects of the topics covered in Year 12 are studied with the addition of political culture and either a second literary text or a film (if film has not been studied in Year 12).
Grade B or above, including Higher Tier Listening
Essays, examinations and a speaking test.
