Further Mathematics AS Level at Southern Consortium Sixth Form

Course description

Further Maths AS students study a combination of three modules, including Decision Maths 1, Further Maths 1, Statistics 1 or Mechanics 1.

  • Decision 1: Algorithms, Graphs and Networks, Linear Programming, Critical Path Analysis.
  • Further Pure 1: Complex numbers, Matrix Algebra, Series, Proof by Induction.

Future opportunities

Employers value students who study Mathematics, as they develop to become better at thinking logically and analytically. Through problem solving, students develop resilience and are able to think creatively and strategically. Individuals with good Mathematical skills and qualifications are both well paid and experience rewarding careers.

      The Consortium provides a friendly and efficient bus service, which is free to students, that moves students at lesson changes between Consortium school sites.
