Hairdressing NVQ Level 2 Diploma at Tresham College of Further and Higher Education
Course description
This course is for those with experience in hairdressing who are looking to gain recognised full level 2 qualification. Learning takes place in a commercial salon.
Course content
You will learn how to consult with clients and promote products and services, and develop a variety of hairdressing techniques including shampoo and condition, cutting, colouring, perming, styling, dressing and finishing hair.
Entry requirements
GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above including English and preferably maths/science. Other relevant qualifications may be considered.
Assessment
Each unit has practical assessments with peer and tutor observations. Online testing forms part of the assessment process.
Financial information
Purchase of salon equipment and uniform will be required, this will be discussed at interview.
Future opportunities
This course will enable you to gain employment in the hairdressing industry as a junior stylist to develop your skills further. Alternativley you may wish to progress onto the advanced hairdressing course to learn more advanced techniques and skills with a good tutor reference and satisfactory attendance record.
