Health and Social Care Apprenticeship Level 3 at Isle of Wight College

Course description

This course is for anyone currently employed within Health & Social Care. The course includes both theory and practical skills which are put into practice in the workplace.

The Advanced Apprenticeship is usually undertaken by learners who have had some industry experience or who have previously completed the Intermediate Apprenticeship or Level 2 NVQ qualification.

Course content

The Advanced Apprenticeship Framework in Health and Social Care will give you the skills and knowledge that you will need to build a career within the Care industry.

The Advanced Apprenticeship Framework includes the following:

  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Health and Social Care
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in Numeracy and Literacy and IT
  • ERR (Employment Rights and Responsibilities)
  • PLTS (Personal Learning and Thinking Skills)

Entry requirements

C and above in Maths and English or equivalent or ability to gain Level 2 Functional Skills.

Assessment

You will attend The Isle of Wight College on a day release one day per week for the underpinning knowledge and some practical input. You will also be assessed and reviewed approx every 4-6 weeks in the workplace by a member of our team.

Future opportunities

Once you complete this qualification you may be able to progress into full time employment.

Many employers will tend to keep their Apprentices on after they complete their Apprenticeship but permanent employment is not guaranteed after learners complete their apprenticeship.
