Art and Design - Level 3 Extended Diploma (UAL) at Blackpool and The Fylde College

Course description

Choosing to study at the University Centre at Blackpool and The Fylde College will provide you with a vibrant and aspirational Art School experience.

Art and Design courses at Blackpool and The Fylde College will allow you to explore your creativity whilst building a portfolio of technical skills. In addition to life drawing and painting, you will work with ceramics, print-making, textiles, photography and other three dimensional materials which will open up new avenues of creative possibility.

In addition to your practical work, you will explore contextual studies which trace the recent developments and issues influencing contemporary art, helping you to think critically and put your own work in context. The courses are, however, highly practical in nature and you will be encouraged to develop the skills and abilities which will form a firm foundation for success in your future career.

Course content

In the first and second parts of the course you will explore the creative process and resolve design problems in a variety of areas such as Textile and Surface Techniques, Drawing and Painting.   You will experiment with mixed media and develop life enhancing research skills.  The final project will allow you to focus in one or more areas in the development of a personal project.
