Business Cambridge Technical Level 3 at South Hunsley School and Sixth Form College

Course description

The Cambridge Technical Level 3 Introductory certificate can be studied for one year, or extended to the Introductory diploma which is a two-year course. This course which takes up a single option block and is ideal if you have a particular interest in the business. Students who wish to pursue higher education or careers in business-related subjects or vocations are also well suited to the course. There are five units across two years and two exams.

Course content

Students who start their Cambridge Technical Business course in September 2017 will follow a new syllabus. There will be a mixture of ongoing assessment and an expectation that students sit examinations as part of the course.

You will learn about an overview of many different areas of business, ranging from types of ownership to business accounts.

Year 12:
  • The Business Environment
  • Customers and Communication
  • Marketing and Market Research

Year 13:

  • Working in Business

  • Accounting Concepts


This course is mainly vocational with units that tailor to meet your interest. The course does rely on being organised and motivated and able to meet deadlines and has the same status as any other A level.

Future opportunities

The transferable skills which are part of the course are required by universities and employers alike.
