Course description
Always loved performing and want to improve your creative skills ready for a career in this competitive world? Then this is the course for you.
You’ll be developing your skills in drama, dance and singing. At your side will be our expert tutors, passing on their professional advice as you put on shows and performances.
You’ll perform in College and at local theatres, taking your work to live audiences across our local community. On campus, in Watford, we have everything you need to bring your creativity to life. Alongside our fully-equipped theatre space, there’s a green room, plus costume stores and dance studios.
Your end of year show will see you taking over a local venue. Last year it was the popular Watersmeet Theatre, in Rickmansworth.
Course content
You’ll be learning and practising drama, dance and singing – developing your skills through workshop activities, team assignments and live performances.

Confidence once you start work matters as much as talent. We’ll build yours through GAP work placements with local employers. We’ll teach you about performing arts as a business, too – how it works and how to shine at professional auditions.
In addition, we’ll develop your English and maths skills, preparing you for further study and working life.
Entry requirements
3 GCSEs (A*–D) including English, or completion of Level 1 Diploma. You will be invited to showcase your talents to our course tutors, and will also be required to attend a course introduction meeting
Future opportunities
The performing arts industry is extremely competitive, so the majority of our students continue to develop their skills and expand their portfolio of work on the Level 3 Extended Diploma at the College.
