Carpentry and Joinery Diploma Level 2 at Sunderland College

Course description

This course is ideal for people who have completed the Level 1 diploma or similar qualification in carpentry and want to learn more about carpentry & Joinery on construction sites.

Course content

You will cover various aspects of site carpentry including first & second fixing, carcassing and learn various construction methods used in the industry.

Entry requirements

You’ll need to hold a Level 1 diploma or similar qualification in a related field.


This course uses a range of practical and theoretical teaching methods so you will learn both inside and outside the classroom. Your practical skills will be developed in our extensive workshop area which simulates the construction environment.

Future opportunities

After successfully completing this could you could move on to the Level 3 diploma in Site Carpentry to further your employment prospects. Alternatively, you could go on to complete an apprenticeship.
