Children and Young People's Workforce Advanced Apprenticeship framework.This consists of:* Edexcel Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce (QCF) - 500/9940/1* Functional skills Mathematics Level 2* Functional skills English Level 2* Functional skills ICT Level 2* Edexcel Level 2 Award in Employmeny Responsibilities and Rights in Children and Young People's settings (QCF)* Paediatric First Aid* Personal Learning and Thinking Skills Assessment and Recognition (PLTS).The Level 3 Children and Young People's Workforce (QCF) is the main component within the Advanced Apprenticeship.The aim of this qualification is to contribute to the skills, knowledge and overall performance of a Senior Care worker.It provides an insight into the principles of care and legislation of the sector and will aid career development.This QCF competence-based qualification is designed for those people who:* are involved in the Childcare sector as their primary work activity* wish to progress in the Childcare sector* wish to gain recognition of their skills and expreince in the Childcare sector.

Entry requirements

All prospective learners will be interviewed and complete a skills scan & initial assessment.

Assessment

Competence based qualification assessed by portfolio.The qualification consists of a minimum of 65 credits.These are drawn from 27 mandatory credits, 22 from the Early Learning pathway and 16 optional competence units.Paediatric First Aid. This is a requirement for the award.The Employment Responsibilities and Rights in Children Young People'e Settings (ERR) covers a wider aspect of the occupation/sector as determined by the CfA. Personal Learning and Thinking Skills Assessment and Recognition (PLTS) are assessed through the achievement of the framework.Functional SkillsChildren and Young People's Workforce Advanced Apprenticeship learners who have achieved (A*-C) GCSE in English, Maths and ICT, need not attempt level 2 functional skill qualifications in English, Maths or ICT.

Future opportunities

Successful learners may progress to a higher level.Childcare employees who advance to a mangement position can then undertake the Level 5.
