Gujarati at Wrenn Academy
The two year course will follow the OCR syllabus. It is similar to other Modern Languages such as French, Spanish etc. The new syllabus is devised to promote the target language (Gujarati) testing, whereby pupils will be required to answer the questions in Gujarati in their GCSE exam. The course is based on the five Areas of Experience of the National Curriculum. Pupils will study the following four components ie Attainment Targets: Listening (AT1) Speaking (AT2) Reading (AT3) Writing (AT4) There will be a two tier examination in these four skills, Foundation and Higher Tier. Pupils will have an option to do the Coursework in Writing. For those of you who have already studied Gujarati, we recommend that you consider this subject as one of your options as students in the past have been very successful at GCSE level Gujarati.
