Photography A Level at Roding Valley High School

Course description

Photography is an artistic and technical subject that will develop your creativity and practical skills. It will help you to develop your imaginative skills, practical ability and technical knowledge. The course will also challenge your intellectual and analytical mastery.

Are you interested in:

Learning to use a 35mm film camera and digital SLR with confidence? Learning to use a traditional photographic darkroom? Learning modern digital photographic skills? Learning studio lighting? Experimenting with alternative photographic techniques?

Course content

Students will produce a collection/ portfolio of coursework material which exemplifies work carried out throughout the two years.

Future opportunities

University degrees that require or often prefer Photography include:

Fine Art, Photography, Film and Television Studies, Fashion Photography, Animation.

Possible career paths:

Commercial photography, Fine Art photography, darkroom printing, digital retouching/manipulation/creativity/graphics. Lighting for theatre or film. Running your own business/ being self-employed.
