Public Services BTEC First Certificate at Alderman White School and Language College
This one year course offers a valuable insight into the very important sector of Public Service. The course follows a student-centred approach to learning and allows you the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained of the principles of Public Service in a practical way
For the BTEC certificate you will study the following three modules:
- Public Service Skills
- Public Service Fitness
- Adventurous Activities and the Public Service
All of the work is assignment based; there are no written examinations. You will build up a portfolio of evidence that shows you have met the assessment criteria. This will then be internally and externally verified at different points during the year. This course is equivalent to two A*-C GCSE’s.
Public Services can equip you for a number of careers within this sector, such as local Government administration, Armed Forces, Police, and the Prison Service. It is especially relevant to any career which involves working with people. It is equally a good stepping stone into higher level courses.
