Course description

Germany has the fourth largest economy in the world, and is the biggest exporting nation for iconic brands such as Adidas and Porsche. So if you want to find out more about this crucial European economic powerhouse, why not study German?

The first year course at AS enables you to revise skills and knowledge gained at GCSE, and to build on them. You will have the opportunity to discover many fascinating topics, and to discuss and write about them at a high level. You will also have regular contact with a native speaker and sessions with the German Assistant, to help you with your conversational fluency. The second year enables you to take this work further, and can bring in literature and film options.

A grade B in German at GCSE is desirable
