Light Maintenance & Repair Principles IMIAL Level 2 Diploma at Swindon College

Course description

This course is designed for people who would like to gain employment in the Motor trade. The course combines both practical training along with mechanical theory. The practical work is carried out in our own training workshops to the necessary industry standards.

During your course of study, you will be involved in demonstrations, practical work, theory lessons, computer sessions, tutorials and project work and work experience.

Entry requirements

Successful completion of Motor Vehicle Progression Diploma Level 1 or four GCSEs at grade C or above including Mathematics, English and Science, with a good understanding of Motor Vehicle technology.

Future opportunities

If you successfully pass the course, this will provide the opportunity for progression onto the Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Diploma Level 3 or the full Maintenance Diploma. This is also dependent on the grades you achieve during the course, your attendance and general attitude towards learning, as well as your ability to cope with more complex systems. This will be assessed by all staff teaching on the course as well as your tutor.
