Course description

Music Business (Record Label) This Apprenticeship is for people who want to work in the Music Industry within the Promotions, Management and Agency related jobs, for example those who work with a range of specialists to plan, book and promote artists or bands. As an Intermediate Level (Level 2) apprentice trains as Marketing, Promotions Assistants where they will support the promotional activities and marketing campaigns in the music industry, utilising social media and social networks.

DECAT & DMF Digital Developing careers in the Creative and Digital Industries Do you work with young people who want a career in the Creative Industries? DMF Digital is a partner organisation of the National Skills Academy (Creative and Cultural) and offers support advice and guidance for young people who want to work in the Creative and Digital Industries. We contribute to the Creative Choices website ( not only advertises national job vacancies but also details creative job profiles across all of the creative sectors. Opportunities with DMF Digital DMF Digital is an independent record label that develops artists in the modern music industry. The organisation runs showcases across the UK and also in New York and at South by South West in Texas. At DMF Digital, we have vacancies in Live Events and Promotion, working with Maida Vale and the O2 Academy and Music Business, signing and developing new artists. DMF Digital also offers apprentices to opportunity to set up their own independent subsidiary label which they can continue to run after the apprenticeship completes. DMF Digital also works with a network of employers across Sheffield City Region to offer Level 2 and 3 Creative apprenticeships and paid internships. The employers include Tramlines Festival, Sheffield Theatres, The Leadmill, Corporation, Site Gallery, Showroom/Workstation and Yorkshire Artspace. Apprenticeship Recruitment Apprentices are recruited after undertaking a pre apprenticeship programme which includes units on employability, functional skills and in certain cases the Arts Award. Should young people not be recruited to an apprenticeship, they can move to alternative provision at DECAT. DECAT have created a 'pipeline' to support young people to move from Level 1 qualifications through to either degree courses or apprenticeships / employment. Currently the DECAT pipeline includes: 14-16 yrs – Vocational Skills Music Tech Entry to Level 1 NCFE 16-19 yrs – Work Study Programme Music Tech Entry Level 1 BTEC 16+ - Music Tech BTEC National Diploma Level 2 16+ - Music Tech BTEC National Diploma Level 3 16+ - Music Business Arts Award, Bronze, Silver and Gold Award

Additional Information All DECAT BTEC programmes and DMF Digital Apprenticeships offer additional support with functional skills (English and Mathematics) for students who have not achieved A-C GSCEs. Additional support with employability and ICT is also available.
