Nail Technology Certificate Level 2 at Lancaster and Morecambe College

Course description

The course will provide you with the knowledge and skills related to changing and maintaining the appearance of natural nails, using U.V Gel, Wraps and the Liquid and Powder systems. You will attend College two evenings each week.

Course content

You will study the following: • An understanding of working in beauty related industries • Health and safety in the salon • Client care and communication • Promoting products and services to clients • Applying and maintaining nail enhancements

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grade A*-D including English or maths OR a Level 1 related qualification. Entry criteria will be applied at the discretion of the course manager.

Assessment

This course is continuously assessed using a range of methods including practical observations, assignments and online examinations. You will also produce a portfolio of work

Future opportunities

Previous students have gone on to work for local salons including Steiner Cruises, Ambience and A Touch of Serenity. Employment prospects include working in salons, spas, health clubs and cruise ships, to self-employment, or as a representative or trainer for brands such as Dermalogica, Clarins or Elemi

Further information

On completion of this course you will receive a City and Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Nail Technology.
