Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles Level 3 Diploma at Highbury College
This Level 3 Technical Diploma covers the technical knowledge needed to work in today's motor vehicle industry.
The programme is suitable for anyone choosing a vocational route for their career development, or anyone undertaking an Apprenticeship or Advanced Apprenticeship with a technical certificate requirement.
The programme consists of five mandatory units (and three initial units if not in receipt of a Level 2 qualification) including diagnosis and maintenance of complex automotive systems.
As part of the programme learners will also complete functional skills in English, Maths and ICT at the correct level for their programme.
Learners will need to have successfully completed the Level 2 Certificate in order to gain progression to the Level 3 Diploma, or are likely to achieve GCSE Grades A-C in English, Maths and Science with a basic background of motor vehicle studies attend a programme interview and complete an assessment.
Learners will carry out assessed workshop tasks and classroom sessions to learn the underpinning knowledge, which will be assessed by written question papers, oral questioning, small assignments and on-line assessments.
To successfully achieve learners must complete all units in the qualification, including all assessments (practical and theory) to a successful level and maximum attendance is required.
On successful completion of the Level 3 Diploma learners could progress to employment to gain a Level 3 NVQ in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, which is the practical competence element of the qualification.
