Active Leisure & Learning Apprenticeship at West Cheshire College

Course description

The Apprenticeship and Advanced Apprenticeship in Active Leisure and Learning will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to work flexibly across a range of settings in the sector. It also provides a sound basis for career progression within the sports sector or in to related fields such as working with local authorities, health and social services and children. On the Apprenticeship you will attend College one day per week to study an NVQ Level 2 in Active Leisure and Learning and work towards improving your functional skills in English and maths. On the Advanced Apprenticeship you will attend College one day per week and study an NVQ Level 3 in Active Leisure and Learning whilst working towards improving your functional skills in English and maths. With the Advanced Apprenticeship you also gain qualified professional status. The Apprenticeship would suit roles such as Sport/Health Club Assistant, Activity Club Co-ordinator and Youth Sports Worker. The Advanced Apprenticeship would suit roles such as Sports Assistant, Activity Club Supervisor and Holiday Play Scheme Supervisor.

You will work towards successfully completing the Apprenticeship in Active Leisure and Learning NVQ Level 2/Level 3.

Entry requirements

This Apprenticeship is suitable for individuals already working within the fitness sector from the age of 16+.

Future opportunities

Types of jobs available for the Apprenticeship include; Sport/health club assistant, activity club co-ordinator, youth sports worker. Advances Apprenticeship jobs would include Sports Assistant, Activity Club Supervisor and Holiday Play Scheme Supervisor.
