Psychology *FEES PAYABLE* at Sackville School

Course description

Psychology is based on evidence from research studies. In the AS you will cover major core studies
that have shaped psychology in the areas of cognitive, developmental, social, and physiological
psychology and individual differences psychology. In studying for the practical investigations paper
you will develop research skills by conducting mini-experiments in class. The A2 consists of 2
papers. The first covers 2 topics: forensic psychology (crime) and health and clinical psychology
which investigates stress, dysfunctional behaviour and psychological disorders. In the second
paper, approaches and research methods, students build and extend on methods learned at AS.
Year 12 students visit Marwell zoo to study animal behaviour and year 13 students visit Lewes
Crown Court as part of the unit on Forensics.

Entry requirements

C grades in GCSE core science and maths, B grade in English
