Marketing Apprenticeship Level 2 at Warwickshire College Group
Apprenticeships are a vocational training programme leading to a series of qualifications, offering the opportunity to earn while you learn using real working life experience. To become an apprentice you must be employed in a suitable position.
Work Based Learning Element - Certificate In Marketing Level 2: This is a work based qualificaiton that you will complete in your work place. An assessor will be assigned to help you select the modules which best fit with your work and will visit with you regularly to help you compile a portfolio of evidence to show your competence. As the qualificaiton is tailored to the individual, the time taken to complete your portfolio will depend on how quickly you collect the evidence. Normally, this qualification will take up to a minimum of 12 months to complete.
College Element - Technical Certificate in Principles of Marketing Level 2 & IT Functional Skills Level 1: A specific individualised plan will be developed in order for you to gain the knowledge required to complete these qualifications. This will require some attendance at College at varying times over the academic year. Your individual plan will cover topics such as:
- Principles of marketing theory
- Understand legal, regulatory and ethical requirements
- Principles of personal responsibilities and working in a business environment
- Principles of digital marketing
- Information technology for Key Skills
3 GCSE passes at C or above including Maths and English at D or above.
Full time employment in a suitable position will be required to complete the apprentice.
Employers who recruit via the college are usually looking for candidates with good GCSE grades. However, attitude, flexibility and a willingness to learn and progress through the apprenticeship programme are as important as qualifications.
Apprenticeships are currently not available to those who have a degree, HNC, HND or equivalent level 4 qualification.

Assessment is a combination of portfolio evidence and online and written testing, supported by you assessor, lecturers and employer. Our Work Based Learning Manager will also visit you on a regular basis to oversee the progress of your apprenticeship.
On successful completion of the level 2 Apprenticeship programme, you will be given advice and guidance about opportunities for further study. Progression to a level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship is possible if your job role is suitable.
