Site Carpentry Level 2 Diploma at Northumberland College

Course description

This course is for 16-18 year olds who wish to start a career in the construction industry, but are currently unemployed or working in a different industry.

Course content

You will study building methods and construction technology, how to carry out first fix operations, how to carry out second fix operations, how to erect structural carcassing, how to carry out maintenance and how to set up and operate power tools and equipment. Ideal if you would like to further develop both the skills and knowledge as joiner.

Entry requirements

You should have two GCSEs at Grade D or above in English and Maths or a relevant Level 1 qualification and have an interest in carpentry and joinery. You will progress through our selection procedure which consists of an initial assessment and interview.

Assessment

Your progress will be assessed by written and practical tests within the college and a final online multiple choice test.

Future opportunities

After completing the course you could gain employment or consider setting up your own business, or progress onto a CSkills Level 3 Diploma in Site Carpentry.
