Course description

This course enables you to become occupationally ready to take up employment in the health and social care sector, either directly after achieving the qualification or via a degree.

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at grade C or above which must include English Language and Mathematics; plus a successful reference and interview. 

All young people will continue to improve their skills in English and Mathematics while studying at the college. If you have lower than a C grade GCSE in Mathematics or English Language, you will be supported to work towards this level.

Future opportunities

This course provides the ideal foundation for university study, such as the Foundation Degree in Healthcare Practice available here and at other universities. Alternatively you may wish to enter the workplace to pursue a career in nursing, midwifery, social work, as a healthcare assistant or in paramedic practice.
