Psychology GCSE at The Coleshill School

Course description

Students who wish to study Psychology as a new subject. Psychology is very diverse and is particularly useful to students interested in employment in the public sector as well as just those who have an interest in human behaviour!

Course content

There are two units of GCSE Psychology.

Unit 1 – ‘Making Sense of Other People’. Covers aspects of human memory, communication, personal development, stereotyping, and discrimination of prejudice and data analysis.

Unit 2 – ‘Understanding Other People’. Covers aspects of learning, social influence, sex and gender and aggression.

Entry requirements

A - C grade or above in GCSE Science discipline and English is preferred

Assessment

This course is assessed by 100% examination with one examination per unit with equal weighting
